The Swiss Hotel Association (hotelleriesuisse) continuously promotes quality hospitality education worldwide. The association was founded in 1882 and it is also the founder of the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) and the owner of the Swiss hotel classification system.

This system of recognition starts when schools apply to join the club of hotelleriesuisse Partner Institutions. Lausanne Hospitality Consulting (LHC) is the agency appointed by hotelleriesuisse to assess the quality of the institutions and also responsible for the management of relationships between hotelleriesuisse and the partner institution.
